FriendPC: How to Find Your Virtual Friend
Back in the 1990s when Internet came in the form of an AOL CD, I still remember some of my best moments were discovering the thrill of speaking to Virtual Friends.
I never knew who I was truly speaking to, but something about talking to a complete stranger gave me a sense that I didn’t have to filter myself as I did in real life.
It was exciting!
It was like watching your first rated R movie alone. I didn’t have to worry about what this person would think of me if I spoke my mind or said I didn’t like the color pink. It was just a real chat I had with someone known as a Virtual Friend. Â
Of course this was back when chat rooms were popular and not filled with creepy people. Although chat rooms aren’t as popular as they were back in the 90s, that doesn’t mean we should eliminate the thrill of talking to online companions. Part of building FriendPC has been determining how users would be able to find a Virtual Friend that personalizes their personal needs. After all, we’re all programmed differently and what may help me may not help another person.
Some people enjoy texting, some people enjoy talking on the phone, and others like using apps like FaceTime.
There’s too many options that you might want to communicate with someone. So what was the best solution? We wanted to use our top four resources that connects Virtual Friends with users. Which were:
Why did we determine those were the best resources? Because these were the proxies that people utilized the most in their day-to-day activities.
Anyone who has a phone could become a Virtual Friend and we provide the platform for them to provide their Services.
Â
Texting Lovers
There’s moments in my day where I look at my phone and there’s no notifications or someone asking me about my day. It’s easy to go day by day being ignored by the world. That’s why we wanted to make Texting a big advertisement for Virtual Friends to offer. If you hire a Virtual Friend to text you for one day, you get the chance to have a conversation with someone who makes the topics about you. You get to have someone ping you about your fears, worries, or updates about your current status.Â
Â
Phone Call Lovers
For many people, the sound of an unexpected call can be frightening. But for others it’s an absolute delight. Or perhaps you have thoughts in your head that can’t be summed up in a few text messages. Â
Â
Video Chat Lovers
A member of our team who loved communicating with Video Chat services such as Skype, FaceTime and Snapchat considered it a great option to give Virtual Friends a chance to connect with users on a preferred video chat software. Whether it’s speaking to someone on their Whatsapp or Skyping someone on their way to work, we wanted to give clients the chance to choose.
We understand that there is a wide variety of games the users can choose from, so Virtual Friends are encouraged to provide a list of games they’re able to play with their Clients. After all, a user should hire a Virtual Friend if they don’t have the console to play a game with.
Â
Social Media Lovers
Another member of our team brought up the idea that Social Media Platforms were a good way to connect users with our Virtual Friends. Some people like communicating over platforms such as Facebook Messager, Snapchat, Skype, Kik, and more apps I can possibly name right now.
Â
Judgement Free Zone
There was another concern we had that we wanted to solve. We wanted to look into a small issue that anti-social or shy people have.
Have you ever been told that you do not have the best conversation skills or aren’t the best at striking up new conversations with strangers? Have you ever thought about how you could learn to be better at talking with new people so you can make new friends?
With FriendPC, we want our four methods of communication to make users feel comfortable while talking to their Virtual Friend. Some might feel comfortable playing Halo with their Virtual Friend. Others might feel more comfortable communicating with their Friend over FaceTime.
On FriendPC, connect with Virtual Friends who can provide you with friendship advice, tips, and practice to try for the real world. You need tips on how to talk to your crush, find a Virtual Friend who can act as a practice dating coach.
Since you haven’t met your Virtual Friend in person, it’s easier to have real conversations with them. It’s easier to tell them things that you wouldn’t dare tell your friend or mother. It can be awkward to tell someone you know personally something embarrassing or dark about yourself. But with a Virtual Friend, it gives you that sense of freedom.
By using FriendPC to hire someone to talk to daily, this helps you with your social skills to a point you can quickly learn how to meet new people in real life. As a platonic platform, FriendPC’s goal would be to connect you with people who want to be your Virtual Friend.
All you have to do is create your own personal profile, find an ad that interest you and hire your Virtual Friend. Perhaps they can help you to learn the skills that will assist you with meeting new people.
Â
A Time to Conquer Fear
Keep in mind, Virtual Friendship is a real friendship. You might not meet a Virtual Friend in real life, but you two still share a bond once you break through the fear of making yourself vulnerable.
Just because a friend is virtual doesn’t mean there is no value in it. Back when some of us were teenagers, we had some of our best moments online with a Virtual Friend we made. They help you discover new things about yourself.Â
