I'm a 36 year old South Carolina girl through and through. I spend my days working hard as a hands-on mom and then unwinding with my favorite down home activities whenever I get a minute to myself. Family comes first for me, so between keeping the house in order and teaching my kids practical life skills, my days stay pretty full. But when I do carve out me-time, you can find me tinkering away on home improvement projects, fixing up my trusty car, or researching the latest how-to video on YouTube.
I just can't sit still for too long before I get antsy to go out exploring. As soon as work is done, I round up my friends to head out on our next adventure - maybe a football tailgate, some late night hiking, or just playing cards on the back patio. I laugh a lot and try my best not to take life too seriously. A rainstorm might ruin some people’s day but to me, it's the perfect weather to go make some memories.
I'm always challenging myself to step outside my comfort zone and absorb new perspectives. Just recently I signed up for a heavy equipment operating class at the local community college. Running bulldozers and backhoes definitely isn't for everyone but hey, you never know when having some excavation skills might come in handy! At the end of the long day though, my favorite way to unwind is loading up my tackle box and fishing pole and hitting the lake just as the sun goes down. Out there with just the sound of crickets and rippling water, I feel at peace and ready to recharge for my next adventure.
