FriendPC: Can I tell my Virtual Friend a Dark Secret
As the youngest child, I grew up alone in the house didn’t have many local friends. I spent a lot of time in the house and my only interaction with people was either in school, my family, or obnoxious neighbors who played loud music every night. It’s those moments in your life where you begin to wonder what your purpose in life is.
A lot of people need advice in their lives, their relationships, and careers. Our Virtual Friends may not be licensed or professional counselors, but they do have personal experiences that may help you out.
I still remember one of our first Virtual Friends who I’ll refer to as Emma. She was a bright young woman in her early twenties who suffered from depression. She didn’t have anyone she could talk to, been abused in previous relationships and had no purpose in life.
When she heard about FriendPC, this was the moment she wanted to take charge in her life. She knew if she felt this lonely, others must have felt the same way too. She sought the opportunity to offer Clients texting services where she would text them throughout the day. There was one Client who just wanted someone to read his rants throughout the day about how much he hated his job.
There was another Client who wanted to talk to her for 20 minutes a day about her day since no one else was willing to listen to her. After having a dozen regular Clients, this was when Emma finally had a sense of purpose. She knew she wasn’t alone when it came to feeling lonely and helpless. She felt fulfilled that even if she was just an ear for people problems, she was still able to change their life.
When we’re depressed and feel hopeless, it’s easy to want to sit down and do nothing. But action will always be the key to shifting your mind out of that stale state. Not only do our Clients receive help, but our Virtual Friends receive a new understanding about themselves when they’re engaging with their Clients.
For Emma, many of her Clients were men who just wanted to hear a woman’s voice talk to them sincerely. For another Virtual Friend who we’ll name Logan, many of his Clients were women who wanted to be treated properly by a gentleman. There’s no preference on who a Client might be fora Virtual Friend because it’s a matter of speaking to who you’re comfortable with.
People want someone who they tell their personal problems to. There’s value in being able to make a connection with someone. It means something when someone is willing to listen to what you have to say. Most of the time people aren’t looking for answers, but just to be listened to.
If you find yourself needing someone to talk to and not be judged, don’t be afraid to reach out to one our Virtual Friends for assistance.
