How to Make Friends at Work – Tips to Have Good Times With Your Co-Workers
If you are wondering how to make friends at work, the answer is simple. You have to be genuinely interested in the people you are hanging out with. It does not matter where they come from because the basic recipe is having a genuine interest in someone.
The reason why showing interest in them is important is to experience a good time with them. Is there really a need to talk about the weather or about how your daughter’s day went? These conversations are a waste of time and they get boring quickly.
You can make friends at work if you take time out from work to talk about your children or pets if you have any. It will make you look like you are sharing personal stories about your life which will have them do the same. By showing interest in their children or pets too, it builds a central connection that may lead to other subjects.
Even though you may not have a chance to enjoy a good time with your coworkers, you still have the chance to make friends. If you really care about your work, start to trust your coworkers with work assignments you can do together. If you work well together with someone, it will make spending time together after work more natural. You will be able to talk freely and about things other than work.

No matter how much time you spend with your coworkers, you will still have to spend time with them just to feel comfortable. And once you feel comfortable with their presence, you can progress to the next level by initiating small chats with them to get to know their interests and hobbies as you share yours.
There is no reason why you cannot build a relationship with the people you work with. Making friends with people at work is a good way to make friends so long as it doesn’t distract you from work or hinder it. Examples you can use to spend time with someone would be during lunch break, smoke breaks, or breaks in between work hours.
Once you ignite a small spark of friendship, set a time outside of work hours to hang out and relax. Invite your coworkers to go for lunch or coffee. This is also a good opportunity to make friends with your coworkers and the people who you work with.
If you work in a busy and hectic environment, you will need to have some extra time to interact with your coworkers. Having the opportunity to make friends can be a great opportunity to relax.
